A Reminder About Beacon Winter Weather Closings and Delays

Here’s a reminder about the different ways to get information about Beacon High School cancellations and delays due to inclement weather this winter.

Main Beacon Telephone Switchboard

If school is cancelled on a particular school day, a recorded message will be available on the main Beacon telephone line by 6:30 A.M. confirming the cancellation.

“Reverse-911” Message

We have also implemented a “reverse-911” message system that will notify every Beacon student’s family with an automated message by telephone or e-mail.

Check the Beacon Website homepage for announcements about weather-related closings or delays at Beacon High School. We will post an announcement as soon as information is available.

Text message Alerts

Arrangements have been made with WCVB Channel 5 and NBC Channel 7/CW Channel 56 for information about Beacon closings and delays to be sent via cell phone text message.  For messages sent to your mobile device from 7NEWS, visit the 7-On-Your-Cell page at whdh.com to sign up for Snow Day Alerts. Register your cell phone number, the name of your carrier and the schools you are interested in hearing about.  To sign up for this service with Channel 5, visit the Weather page at TheBostonChannel.com and click on the ‘Closings’ button to sign up.

TV and Radio

Beacon High School will also be listed among school closing information on local TV and radio broadcasts, including WCVB Channel 5 and NBC channel 7 /CW channel 56.
