A new lens
What better place is there for a budding artist to be than Venice, Italy?
Izzie Everett, a Wellesley resident finishing her senior at Beacon High School, will spend two weeks in June in the City of Water enrolled in the School of the Museum of Fine Arts’ “Explore Venice Through Your Art” course, combining studio and field work through mapping, drawing, photography, collage, and other media.
“I’ve had a sketch pad since I was in the fifth grade,” she said.
Izzie’s real interest, however, is photography. She was hooked at the age of 13 at a summer camp. Although she will miss graduation, Izzie can’t wait to travel and see Europe. When she isn’t in class during her stay in Venice, Izzie plans to be out and about taking photographs.
“My dream job is to take photos for National Geographic.”
